A Message From Our Fearless Leader
This photo was taken ten years ago at a Dark Night at 2nd Story Theater in Warren, which kicked off in January 2010.
Through the generosity of the folks at 2nd Story, especially Lynne Collinson, who deserves all the credit in the world for giving a young, inexperienced writer the chance of a lifetime, we were able to produce over fifteen evenings filled with my work and the work of other local writers as well as give local actors the chance to perform in front of huge audiences, all the while demonstrating the value and excitement of new work.
People still tell me how much they loved those evenings and they hold a very special place in my heart, which is why I'm so excited to be partnering with my friends at Burbage Theatre Co to produce a brand new Dark Night on Thursday, March 19th called "Stop Me If You've Heard It."
Jeff Church and his company have been unstoppable lately, creating exhilarating and engaging theater that has everybody talking. I'm also lucky enough to be friends with Jeff and all of the talented and wonderful people who work with him, so at the end of last year, when I was getting ready to pitch some kind of collaboration with them, Jeff asked if I would consider bringing back the Dark Nights, and it was the best offer I've gotten in a long time.
I don't usually like to revisit things, but these evenings were always evolving and expanding so that you were guaranteed a different experience each time, and "Stop Me If You've Heard It" will be a Dark Night for a new decade that combines the best of what you see at Burbage and the work we do at Epic Theatre Company.
Mark your calendars, because this is going to be one you won't want to miss.
