The Epic Book Club
We know many of you are going to be spending more time at home and looking for things to keep you occupied, which is why we're so happy we can point you in the direction of a good book.
So far, we've read some real page-turners as part of our Epic Book Club, but this is one that comes with a personal recommendation from our very own Fearless Leader.
Here's Kevin with the latest selection: "A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of sitting down and reading Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi, and once I started, I couldn't stop. Tochi has already made a big splash with the novels Beasts Made of Night, War Girls, and Crown of Thunder. I own all three of them, and they're all favorites of the teenagers in my writing classes, but Riot Baby is the one I knew we had to read for the Book Club. That was before the world came to a halt, and now I think it should be considered required reading for everyone." Riot Baby is the story of Ella who can see things before they happen, and her fiercely protective brother, Kev. When Kev is incarcerated, Ella has to come to terms with her ability and what it means not just for her future, but the future of the world.
"We've had some great discussions so far about the book club selections, and I'm looking forward to creating an online discussion about Riot Baby for our audiences and anyone who desires the chance to talk about Tochi's powerful new book."
